Get Out! Static of the Gods video release party at Enormous Room on Thursday February 7th

Peluche

Pop rockers Static of the Gods have a new album in the works. First up is a video release party for “Peluche” at Enormous Room (567 Mass Ave., Central Square, Cambridge) on Thursday, February 7th. The video will be shown throughout the night starting at 8:30. The party also features DJ Boo Boo Danger. It’s 21+ and there’s no cover charge. I think I’ll stop by before heading up the street to the Gene Loves Jezebel/Broken River Prophet show at The Middle East Upstairs.

BOSTON (December 4, 2007) - Boston-based band, Static of the Gods, enlists music producer, Matthew Ellard, and production company, Curiosity Group, to collaborate on their new single, “Peluche”, whose video is set for release in February 2008.

Working with the likes of Weezer, Radiohead and Tanya Donnelly, Ellard produces the new track off of the band’s upcoming album while Curiosity Group, whose clients include Disney, Paramount and Dreamworks, creates the animated video for the single.

“I love music. I always have it on when I draw,” said Alberto Cerrite, Curiosity Art Director. “And it has always been a dream of mine to animate a music video, and see my characters come to life in rhythm and melody. The music for ‘Peluche’ is so haunting and powerful, like a soundtrack, so dramatic in the way it builds. The first time I heard the demo I immediately began sketching, I was so inspired. And I think the result is beautiful in that it reinforces the mood of the video without over explaining it. It’s something I’m very proud of!”
