Photos! Girls Guns & Glory Win Semi-Finals at WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble

After The Lights Out played upstairs at the Middle East, I zoomed over to Harpers Ferry in Allston to see whoever was left to play at that night’s semi-finals of WBCN’s 30th Annual Rock & Roll Rumble. I saw most of Andrea Gillis’ super deluxe high energy performance. Next up was Girls Guns & Glory who played even better than their first round. The band’s cover of Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison got a lot of people in the audience dancing, including Holly from HUMANWINE (who also played earlier that night). After waiting half an hour for the judges to figure out who would advance to the finals, one of the WBCN DJ’s came up on the stage to announce that Girls Guns & Glory won. They’ll be playing on Friday, April 25th at Harpers Ferry along with whoever wins tonight’s semi-finals round plus The Neighborhoods, who won the first WBCN Rock & Roll Rumble thirty years ago.
