Reader Recommendation: Thursday Night Shows?
November 28, 2007 by Sooz

Sloan wrote in to ask about what’s going on Thursday night, November 29th.
Hey, I’m in boston for a conference at the hynes center but I have a metro pass and I’m looking for a show to end the week with. I’d really prefer something somewhere relatively cheap and low scale where I can lose my self in loud music and happy moshing. Any ideas what might be available? I’m actaully not opposed to Drums and Bass either, just want to get exhausted on my last night in Boston.
Hey Sloan:
This isn’t a concert but Tourfilter is hosting a DJ night at River Gods near Central Square (Cambridge) on Thursday night from 9pm-1am. Brad Searles from music blog Bradley’s Almanac will be spinning along with Chris from Tourfilter. I’ve DJ’d at it before and it’s a lot of fun.
I wrote about Tourfilter DJ Night in this week’s concert picks.
This might be of interest, too:
Holy Fuck @ The Middle East Upstairs
18+, 9pm doors, $10, 472 Mass Ave., Central Square, Cambridge (directions/map)
with Celebration (4AD) and Dragons of Zynth
The Middle East is a local institution as far as the rock scene goes. They’ve got three venues that span 472-480 Mass Ave including the “upstairs”, “downstairs” and the “corner” plus a restaurant and bar. The band is in town from Toronto. On MySpace (where you can hear some of their music), they describe themselves as Experimental / Electronica / Rock.
