If there’s a short list of bands that are part of the Sooz house band list, The Blizzard of 78 has been on the list since 2006. Most everyone I introduce to the band’s music at a live show becomes an instant fan. And who can blame them? Some of my favorite bands have singers who don’t play an instrument. That’s the case for Pip, too — the singer in The Blizzard of 78. Much like Gordon Downie of (my favorite band) The Tragically Hip, Pip is a true performer.
Here’s the slideshow of photographs taken at their March 27, 2010 show at Rosebud Bar in Davis Square, Somerville. The song playing in the slideshow is an excerpt from “The Song” — one of the songs you’ll hear on The Blizzard of 78’s latest album Book of Lies. Buy it on iTunes or from the band through The Blizzard of 78 website.
